Yeah, I just couldn't wait to start this one. It'll be following the same user input as MSPA, but will be formatted more like a traditional story.

And don't get too attached to anyone.

The large waiting room is packed full of volunteers. The room is brightly lit, which causes the stark white room to be absolutely blinding. There is nothing much in the room: just the entrance, a seating area, and a small door in the back of the room. Suddenly, a tone chimes over the intercom, and a soothing, female voice comes on.
"Hello, and welcome to the Center for the Advancement of the Human Race. My name is Holly, and in addition to being the caretaker of the facility, I will be administering the testing today and acting as your handler. We would like to thank you once again for partaking in our experiment today, Project Elite. Upon completion of today's test, you will be given your agreed upon reward of $100,000.
"At this time, you will each be given an application, a liability waiver, and a number. When your number is called, please make your way into the back room, where you will turn in your forms and the testing will begin. Good luck, and Everybody have a nice day!"
As the announcement ends, a panel opens up in the ceiling above you, and your forms are dropped gently into your lap.

'Thank you for your interest in the Center for the Advancement of the Human Race. Today, you will be furthering our cause of Transhumanism, but first, we would like you to fill out this application.

Number: ALPHA-001. This will be your testing number, and will take the place of your name for the duration of the experiment.

Age: Please tell us your age. This will determine your dosage of the compound.

Sex: By this, we mean "Male" or "Female." The Center for the Advancement of the Human Race does not find it amusing when you answer this with "yes" (or any variation there of) or a number. It is childish, and we've seen it millions of times before. IT ISN'T FUNNY.

Race: Please inform us of your ethnicity. We assure you, this is for data purposes only. The Center for the Advancement of the Human Race will not judge you by your ethnic background.

Appearance: Please provide us with a brief description of your appearance. Be sure to include such details as hair and eye color, height, build, etc.

Personality: Please give us a brief description of your temperament.

Power/Ability: For this experiment, you will be testing our new Alpha Elite Compound, wich will give you a superhuman ability of your choice. At this time, the compound is only safe for one ability. Please describe to us the ability as best you can. If there is not a pre-existing term for your ability, feel free to invent one. And remember: specificity is key. Be very careful when choosing your ability. A bad choice could be detrimental to your health, as you all know after the Little Timmy incident. It's no wonder they refuse to let us adopt any more orphans. Anyone with a half a brain knows why he shouldn't have chosen that power. And if you don't know, don't worry; think of it as Natural Selection in action!

Liability Waiver: "I, x   ALPHA-001   , hereby acknowledge the danger in partaking in this experiment, and agree not to hold the Center for the Advancement of the Human Race responsible should any grievous harm and/or death befall me."'

Disclaimer: There's a very real possibly that I may mix and match your answers. But only maybe.

He sounds familiar...

'Number: ALPHA-001

Age: 15

Sex: Male

Race: Italian

Appearance: Skinny, a little taller than the average man, dark hair, awesome mustache

Personality: Calm, collected, and serene. Builds rage under stress.

Power/Ability: The ability to turn invisible to the naked eye, cameras, IR, Temperature detectors, etc.'

Just as soon as you finish the form, you here your Holly's voice call your number. You make your way into the large circular room. It is completely empty except for a girl of about 17 on the other side of the room. You... guess this is Holly? She looks too young. She just stands there, so you approach her. "Holly?" No reply. She's dressed in the same testing jumpsuit as you, so she must be staff. She's pretty plain looking, with average features and short red hair. She just stands there, staring. She doesn't even appear to be breathing.
"Back here, sweetie," Holly's voice calls. You turn around, but instead of a woman, you are greeted with a computer monitor that has descended from the ceiling. "You seem surprised. Did you not realize I was the facility's Operating System? It's a common mistake, actually. The name 'Holly' doesn't scream 'computer program' the same way 'Computron 3000' does."
"Well, who's that?" you ask, pointing behind you.
"Honey, that's the training dummy! Very lifelike, isn't she? We try to make our androids as realistic as possible. They even scream in agony! Not exactly necessary, no, but I just love their cries of pain."
  "Uhh..."
"Anywho, let's get started. Please deposit the forms in the bin over there." A small deposit box rises from the floor. You place your hands the slick plastic and run your fingers over the smooth material. "Ooh, watch it! The company doesn't approve of me getting fresh with the test subjects."
You quickly jerk your hand back. "Sorry," you say as your face turns red. You put the forms in and step back. You wait around a few minutes waiting for Holly to finish processing the data.
"Okay, Alpha-001. It's time for you to evolve." A slanted board with several straps rises from the floor. "Please undress and secure yourself onto the bed." You do as she says, though this is definitely no bed. It's too hard and uncomfortable. Several robotic hands dangle from the ceiling. "Please stand by as we administer the formula. Don't worry, it won't hurt." The hands jam IVs of a clear liquid into your wrists, and several needles pierce  your back, directly into your spine. It hurts like hell, and you howl in pain. "I'm sorry, I forgot I am incapable of feeling pain. Oh well, it's much more pleasurable this way." This torture continues for hours, and it becomes so unbearable, you pass out.
You begin to dream. You are alone in a white void. The girl-- no, the testing dummy-- materializes from the nothingness. Her eyes turn completely black: irises, sclerae, and all. Circuits appear under her skin and glow blood red. Suddenly, she let's out an unearthly scream. Her voice is unnatural; in addition to her normal voice, there is another underlying voice, deep and demonic. You cover your ears, and that's when you feel the blood streaming from them. The banshee continues to scream, louder and louder. And that's when you notice it: the tears streaming down her face. You reach out to help her, but you're startled awake by the sound of Holly calling your number.
"Ah, Alpha-001, you survived. You're quite the subject. Most of the subjects in our pre-Alpha stage didn't live through the procedure! This is quite amazing. Now, let me explain to you your new abilities. In order to render you invisible to different cameras and the human eye in one power, we have concocted a strain of the formula that allows you to bend all wavelengths of light around you. This comes with the added benefit of concealing your clothes as well as not triggering any infrared security beams, but it comes with the side-effect of bending light away from your eyes, so you'll be blind as long as you're invisible.
"In addition, there are several things it can't do: for one thing, we were unable to mask your heat signature without giving you another strain of the formula. Our alchemists haven't exactly perfected it yet, so mixing all that hazardous material doesn't end well. Don't worry, you'll be fine. The radiation is a small price to pay in order to become Transhuman. Anyway, you probably won't need to worry about your heat signature unless you plan to stage a haunting or have missiles shot at you.
"Secondly, radar and sonar can still find you. They use radio waves, which are an altogether different electromagnetic wave than light. But again, unless you plan on sprouting wings to fly or gills to swim, it shouldn't ever prove to be a problem.
"The last thing you should know is that your powers won't leave you inaudible or intangible. Try not to make too much noise or bump into anyone, okay?
"At this time, I would like you to take your powers for a spin. Should you have any questions, feel free to speak up!"
The room is now occupied with several different set-ups: a laser grid hooked up to automatic weaponry, several security cameras, and patrols of training dummies equipped with assault rifles. This is some pretty dangerous testing. Where should you start?

You decide you should probably start with the leas dangerous exercise: the security cameras. You dress yourself again and spend a good amount of time memorizing the course. Every twist, every turn, every pedestal and vase, the whole shebang. At the end is terminal that will allow you to replay the footage to see how you did. Okay, now that you're confident, you decide to give it a try.
Using your powers for the first, you're not entirely sure how to activate it. You figure it must be mental, so you regulate your breathing and concentrate. Hard, harder... You watch as everything goes dark right before your eyes. It's amazing, really. All this power. You really are something beyond human now. As you stand there, marveling at your powers, a sensation of vertigo suddenly hits you. All the blood rushes to your head, and you begin to feel weak. The massive headache breaks your concentration, and everything becomes visible again.
When you return to feeling normal, you give it another try. You last a little longer before getting dizzy, and once again, you give it another try when you return to normal. After about few hours or so of practice, you've pretty much mastered it. You can maintain your invisibility for around 15 minutes; quite the vast improvement over 15 seconds.
You're finally ready to try the obstacle course. You become invisible, reach your arms out to help feel around, and slowly walk the course. It's slow going, but you're able to make the whole course without disturbing a thing. Once at the terminal, the footage begins to replay. Sure enough, you are nowhere to be seen. This is so cool.

As a note: yes, I changed the name. It occurred to me that it elite isn't a noun. At least, I didn't think it was, but I've been proven wrong. I don't feel like changing it back, though.

Next up, you tackle the laser grid. This one is more dangerous. Although it's a short, straight path, one wrong move will turn you into swiss cheese, and that's not something you're about to let happen. You decide the best strategy is to run like hell once the field is up. You will yourself invisible and dash across. However, in your haste, you didn't memorize it as well, and become visible again too soon, tripping the last laser. All the guns point in your direction and let loose a storm of gun fire. At the last second, you dive out of the way and get off scot free.
After the excitement dies down and your heart rate returns to normal, you chastise yourself for being so reckless. You know that there is no room for error in the next test; the training dummies are pretty close to actual guards, and you doubt that running will save you from these guys. You scout out what you'll be up against: the girl from before, and a kid with black hair who looks around twelve-ish. They both have that blank stare as they circle a pedestal with a large red button on it. You guess you're expected to press it.
You spend the next few minutes watching the patrols. You count how long it takes them to go full circle and realize it's exactly the same every time. "Okay, I can work with this." You stealth up and keep count, waiting for the right opening. You inch closer and closer until you're within inches of the patrol. When the opportunity presents itself, you race to the button and mash it down as hard as uo can. Everything goes quiet for a moment, prompting you to become visible again and see what happened.
That's when they scream. The dummies are right in front of you, crumpled on the floor. You can hear the misery in their voices. The eerie wails continue for several deafening minutes before two robotic arms appear to drag them away. "Ah, doesn't that just INVIGORATE you?" Holly's voice sighs from behind you. You watch as her monitor rises from the floor. "Congratulations, you've passed the test. It's not every day that the first subject succeeds. Your parents must be so proud to have a prodigy of science as their offspring." Another arm extends from the floor and grasps your hand, violently and vigorously shaking it up and down.
"However..." she continues, "there is one itsy-bitsy, teenie-weenie little problem. You see, a disgruntled test subject from our exploration of bionic implants has run off with your prize money. It's nothing major, but we just don't have the man power to hunt him down. So... good luck with that!"
"Wait, you mean I have to go after him? Can't you just give me some other money?"
"I'm sorry, but we only have enough cash on hand to reward all the test subjects, and not a dollar more. We can't just give you someone else's money, now can we? That would be wrong. But don't worry, I'm sure that once the big wigs of the company hear that you've brought back this fugitive, they'll make it worth your while. Now, then, before you depart, do you have any more questions?"

"Yes, what does he look like?" you ask.
"Oh, he's about 5' 3", shaved head, early twenties, pale skin... You can't miss him."
  "What are his powers?"
"Nothing much. Implants that give him enhanced strength, speed, reinforced spine and bones... You'll be fine."
  "Oh, joy."
"Now then, before you go, there's one last thing we must do..." One of Holly's robotic arms applies a gauntlet to your left wrist. It clamps down, and several needles extend from the inside and attach to your arm. There's a short, sharp pain as the device starts an IV in the veins on your wrist. "This is an all purpose device. It will track your movements via GPS; provide you with medicine to accelerate healing in the case of an injury; allow you to communicate directly with me; and allow you to make purchases on our account. It is only programmed to allow up to $1 in credits, which will be paid over the next few months. Spend wisely, for whatever's left over will given to you in payments over the course of a year. Good luck!" Before you have time to react to any of this information, you are shoved into a small pod. A vent releases some sort of knock-out gas, and you fall unconscious.
You don't dream this time. It's just blackness until a loud thud jostles you awake. The pod opens up to a wooded area. All you can see in any direction is a sea of coniferous trees. The terrain is rocky, and the air is cool. You guess you're up north. Canada, maybe. You look in the pod to find any supplies. All you have is a deep purple wool jacket and hat. At least this will keep you warm. You're all alone in the wilderness now. Somewhere is your prey. You must find him before he finds you.

There must be clues. If someone was here, they must have left signs. You look around, searching for his trail. You get down on your hands and knees, examining the ground, leaving no stone unturned. You find nothing in your immediate area, so you decide to search farther away. You look at the sky, using the setting sun as a compass. After finding north, you head out.
After an hour of walking, it has gotten dark. The temperature has dropped considerably. The waning crescent moon creeps up over the horizon. With that sliver of silver light, you catch the gleam of something metallic in the distance. You run towards the object, trying to deduce what it is. When you finally reach the beacon, you're not sure what to make of it. They're are several shiny white strips of metal piled around, with more metal shrapnel lodged in the nearby trees. On closer examination, the logo that reads CAHR identifies it as a totaled pod, much like the one you arrived in. "He wasn't as lucky as I was," you say. The pod had landed right on a jagged cliff.
