In case you are not aware, today is the day of the last space shuttle program.

At 11:26 a.m. EDT, space shuttle Atlantis took off for the International Space Station. Nothing eventful happened during the launch, although one could say that the entire launch is momentous.

It's the end of an era folks. I'm afraid we won't be seeing another one like it.

Space research isn't what I'd call wasting money.  Landing on Titan and constructing settlements there would be an amazing feat for mankind.  Granted, those who are opposed to cold should stay here.

But I'll stay out of the politics talk.  I don't know enough to give a properly informed opinion.
