anyways, i want to make a topic about this but i want to include manga discussion in case someone wants to move this to tv.
ahem ill start with 2 of my favorite manga:

Cowboy Bebop

Two bounty hunters, one of them with a robotic arm and the other with a green jew-fro hunt down convicts around the solar system. Both have dark pasts that catch up to them rather quickly. While bounty hunting, they end up with a Welsh Corgi, a girl with an attitude, and a loli with extreme technical wizardry that doesn't tend to make sense.

How has Hobo not flooded this topic with the glories of Berserk yet?

YOU KNOW WHY HE'S SO PISSED?

BECAUSE HIS BEST FRIEND AND WAR BUDDY SACRIFICED HIM AND THEIR ENTIRE ARMY TO AN ORGANIZATION KNOWN AS THE GOD HAND SO HE COULD BECOME LIKE THEM. WELL, GRIFFITH, THAT'S THE ASSHOLES NAME, DIDN'T COUNT ON GUTS BEING ANGRY ENOUGH TO DEFY FOUR OF THE MOST POWERFUL BEINGS IN EXISTENCE. SO GUTS FOUGHT DEMONS IN THE ECLIPSE WHERE HE LOST HIS ARM AND HIS EYE. DID I MENTION THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE GOT RAPED BY GRIFFITH AND SHE  GAVE BIRTH TO SOME DEMON BABY FETUS THING THAT HAUNTS GUTS DREAMS? SO YEAH, HE'S PISSED.

SO NOW HE TRAVELS THE LAND WITH HIS HUGE SWORD "DRAGONSLAYER" SEARCHING FOR GRIFFITH SO HE CAN END THAT MOTHERFUCKERS LIFE. BUT, WAIT. WHEN GUTS WAS TRAPPED IN THE ECLIPSE, HE RECEIVED THE BRAND OF SACRIFICE, SO NOW DEMONS AND MONSTERS ARE OUT FOR HIS BLOOD.

BUT THIS IS WHAT USUALLY HAPPENS TO THOSE BITCHES.



THE STORY HONESTLY HASN'T PROGRESSED MUCH, BUT BERSERK HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE 1990, AND EVERY BIT OF IT IS FUCKING AWESOME. DID I MENTION THERE'S A WITCH LOLI?

ANYWAYS, BERSERK IS DONE MOSTLY BY ONE MAN, IT'S CREATOR KENTARO MIURA. THIS MOTHERFUCKER LITERALLY WORKED HIMSELF INTO THE HOSPITAL POURING HIS HEART AND SOUL INTO IT. AFTERWARDS, THE PUBLISHING COMPANY FORCED HIM TO HIRE ASSISTANTS, AND HE ONLY LETS THEM DO SHIT LIKE ARROWS BECAUSE HE DOESN'T TRUST THEM.

MY RECOMMENDATION?

READ THE MANGA. DON'T BOTHER WITH THE ANIME. IT'S MUCH BETTER, AND IT HAS A CERTAIN FEEL TO IT THAT THE ANIME DOESN'T. IF IT BOTHERS YOU SO MUCH, JUST LISTEN TO THE BITCHIN' OST WHILE READING THE MANGA. THE ONLY PART OF THE ANIME WORTH WATCHING IS THE ECLIPSE, BUT READ THE MANGA FIRST.

GO FUCKING READ BERSERK.
