SBaHJ is a supplement to Homestuck. I have read it, and it is, in fact, plot relevant to the story. In fact, SBaHJ is a comic within a comic for Homestuck, having been written by the character Dave Strider. Its purpose is to be the source of in-universe memes for the characters, while simultaneously being the source of memes for the fandom.
