You could lasso a Mars Rover and make repairs and other things to it and build it better for not as much cost as creating something new.  In the interest of space, time, and gravity, I would lasso a star so this would mean my lasso could withstand high temperatures and pressure and the star would have to be brought closer to our position.  It would take fordamnever to get here but when it did it would cause our galaxy to collapse on itself and I don't even want to go through all of the numerical methods you would have to use to calculate something like this occurring.  Lassoing things isn't exactly the greatest idea.
