I am of the opinion that it travels as a particle.  After all, waves cannot travel through voids.

It travels as a wavy particle. Problem solved.

It might be an oddly shaped particle, I don't know, I've never seen a photon.

Is this true:
Particle: beam of light
Wave:concentrated light and heat

Or is it the other way around

Particles have charge and mass.  Waves interfere and diffract.  Light does both at different times so its a beast.

It's called the quantum theory of light, right? It's both. It's behaves as two intersecting electromagnetic waves, but has mass like a particle.

So the answer is neither: it's a photon.

Wave-Particle Duality is when an electron exhibits both wave and particle properties.  The Quantum Theory of Light deals with the quantization of light energy meaning energies of light are discrete.

This is actually helping me study for my Modern Physics final I have to take at 3.

Light is a particle because 4 and 1/2 pounds of sunlight strike the earth each day.
