ANYWAY, since I'll actually be able to enjoy this game in a few months, I must ask: RED or BLU?

I prefer RED. I don't know why. Well, I know why I do now, but before, it didn't make much sense why I would prefer to be on RED.

To be practical about it, ever since the Mac update, BLU seems to have been associated with Macs. Doesn't mean I don't play on BLU, sometimes it's necessary, sometime's RED's just packed.

As for wisdom:

Pyro has a secondary fire. It puts out burning teammates and reflects projectiles as long as you time it correctly. You are an engineer's very best friend if you play defensively.

Something that sounds like an electrical storm is a Spy uncloaking from the dead ringer after faking their death. If you hear it, turn around fast and start shooting things. Speaking of faking their death, if a spy dies really easily, don't look for them. As long as you pay attention to the sounds, you'll know where they're at. Looking for them just wastes your time, and makes them play defensively. At this point, the spy will believe you aren't paying attention, so you'll be better off when they make a stupid move.

Go medic if no one else is willing to do it. It's a rewarding job.

Make bodyshots as sniper. Piss people off and laugh over mic.

I personally prefer Reliable Excavation and Demolition, because they're canon in all of the "Meet the..." videos.

What's a good starting class? I only ask because I've heard some classes are more technical.

Spy sounds like fun, but I'll need to get good at being every other class if I'm to be convincing.

Getright infront enemy spawn
Backstab everyone who steps out
