ok so clearly I haven't really been spriting that much lately and it's mostly because I'm bad at it. I have come to this conclusion because after carefully analyzing the running poses I gave Lento, they're all hideously anatomically incorrect. Somewhere, I operated under a terrible and false assumption that his boots go up to his knees, but that is not a fact on the male uniform. On the female uniform, yes, the boots are supposed to go up to the knees, which would mean if the leg size were a bit more on the lean, feminine side, the run would be at least slightly suitable for Rallentando or Allegro, but not for anyone else.

Sometimes I seriously wonder why I even try, or why I started trying. More to come eventually, just wanted to give that update.

Starting off this month of spriting with something familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. An in-battle pose for Allegro is on the left, and is the sprite I made for today. The one on the right is him holding his scythe, the scythe being something I also made, but since it's a weapon overlay, makes that single sprite have quite a few more than 15 colors. I just felt it was appropriate to have him holding something, or else the pose without context would probably look silly.

I'm proud of the way I shaded his legs. All things considered though, the scythe looks a bit like it's breaking the perspective. I'll have to learn to work with that.

I personally suggest putting some darker shades of the skin tone around the eyes and the mouth. Would make the expression more visible.

GeminiMan, based on an old concept I had for him, with a few new alterations. Everyone's who seen it so far pretty much fucking hates it, and I'm pretty fond of his design.

He's incomplete, but I've been working on him all day. Considering that CrashMan himself took me maybe three days to make back when I worked on him, I think I've improved, if at nothing more than making sprites faster.
