I still do not know anything really...I have tried to look but found nothing. I do hope that everything works out for the best.

It's only truly entertaining in 3rd person in Skyrim. Other than that, it's hard to make it interesting, considering.

Even in third person, it's just the same animations, ad infinitum. Not to mention the "SUPER AMAZING EXPLOSIVE INSTAKILL ANIMATIONS WHOAAA ISN'T THAT SO EXCITING FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME."
Don't get me wrong, Skyrim is mad fun. But man, dat melee combat. Why couldn't they just take a peek over at Dark Messiah and been like "Hey, people like this and it's totally amazing and stuff. We should use it."

Combat in games like Prototype, Ninja Gaiden, and the like are FAR more enjoyable than Skyrim, simply because the game is centered around that, and the characters are made in a far more dynamic approach. However, in TES, it's hard to blend that unique feeling, like the new spells, with the precision and customization, like the missing spellmaking system.
And the Skyrim melee system is absolutely amazing compared to Morrowind and Oblivion.

Pretty sure Oblivion's was damn near identical.
And anything is better than a dice roll deciding if me BASHING SOMEONE'S FACE IN AT POINT BLANK RANGE hits.
And it's not hard to make combat feel exciting and "unique." Add a weapon customization system that has some real depth. Make some new animations. Remove automatic-player-has-no-decision-in-using-it instakills. Add the ability the dodge and riposte without a shield. Why should I be pigeon-holed into a certain style of play in a game that boasts openness and freedom of choice in how I want to go about doing things just to make it so that it's interesting.
Even the most recent Batman games while they could easily be considered mindless button mashers, add tons of depth with all of the options available to a player just in melee combat.
Boom.
I'll take my paycheck anytime, Bethseda.

If you monitor the draining of complexity that happened from Morrowind to Skyrim, it's hard to expect it to become MORE complex. The random roll thing was an adherence to D&D, but they took it out for realism's sake.
In truth I have a shitton of other problems with Skyrim outside of the combat system, as I never really asked that much from it to begin with. The executes could be significantly smoother, and a cinematic kill gauge, like from Fallout: New Vegas, would've worked nicely (adjust how often cinematic kills happen). It's pathetic that Obsidian did something better than Bethesda.

Bethseda has been good for nothing but giving us things to mod and videos to laugh it at their hilarious ragdolls since Oblivion.

I don't know if Havoc doesn't have the capability of giving proper weight to objects, or if Bethesda just doesn't use it.
Then again, Force Unleashed used Havoc and nothing felt like it weighed more than a small child.
If things were weighted properly, the ragdoll wouldn't be so hilariously bad.

Havoc in this day and age is pretty outdated in comparison with any proprietary physics engine out there.
At least, in my opinion.
