I did too, and when heard what it was really about a few months later, forced myself through the first act. It gets better.

See, originally, it used the MSPA gimmick of the suggestions from fans to drive the story. That's why the first act is so stupid and random, and being incredibly boring. But later, Andrew, the author, was like, "Fuck this," and closed the suggestion box. Now he does whatever the hell he wants, and it's much better.

Watch this Flash if you don't believe it gets better.

Edit: It's probably NSFW due to bloodshed and porn advertisements on the site.

That was one of the lesser flashes. Just read it. Once you get past the horrid fans screwing it up, you'll love it. It takes a lot of cues from Earthbound, including the name. Also, anthropomorphic chess is awesome.

Can I just skip the first part? If it's really that bad and was completely fan driven, I don't see how it could be critical to story success.
